FRM獎學(xué)金申請基本事項

　　全日制在讀研究生可以申請由GARP官方提供的350美元獎學(xué)金(更像是報名費優(yōu)惠)，且獎學(xué)金僅針對參加一級的考生，每位考生一生只能獲得一次。最需要注意的事情是Deadline。FRM11月份的獎學(xué)金申請截止日期是8月31號哦，千萬不要錯過。獎學(xué)金是否申請成功會在10月23號公布出來。

　　另外，在開始獎學(xué)金申請之前，你必須已經(jīng)支付1級的FRM考試費，并且已經(jīng)在My Program里下載你的Invoice(這是必不可少的材料)。

　　前期材料準(zhǔn)備

　　下載Scholarship Application，登陸到GARP官網(wǎng)，點擊頁面上端的My Program，把右手邊的Study Materials欄拉到底端，點擊Scholarship Application Download進行下載。打開所下載的PDF文件，合計6頁，前兩頁可以不看(但別忘了截止時間8.31)。從第三頁開始就是重點。

　　總結(jié)起來你需要準(zhǔn)備這些紙質(zhì)材料：

　　Current CV，英文簡歷，按照求職的要求準(zhǔn)備吧，大家上網(wǎng)找找

　　Printed Invoice，支付FRM考試費之后，才可以在My Program里下載

　　2018 May Application，把剛剛下載的6頁PDF文件打印，并將第四頁中Faculty Member那行以上的內(nèi)容填寫，同時把第五頁有關(guān)內(nèi)容如實勾選。

　　Transcript，成績單現(xiàn)在基本上都是自助機打，我認(rèn)為有學(xué)校大紅章就OK。

　　FRM很人性化地允許研究生新生使用課程表來申請，本人就是用Education Certificate在讀證明和Class Schedule Certificate課程表來申請，同樣也是有大紅章的。

　　這一項主要是用于證明獎學(xué)金申請人在參加FRM考試的那個時間點是在讀的、全日制的研究生，因此在出具證明時必須突出這些點，這很重要!我給大家準(zhǔn)備了一些參考。FRM獎學(xué)金申請事宜在線咨詢

　　Personal Statement，即Applicant statement，稍后細說。

　　Recommendation，老師的推薦信，稍后細說。

　　Personal Statement個人陳述

　　通過一頁紙的Statement你需要說清楚的是兩點。一個是對風(fēng)控領(lǐng)域的commitment，另一個就是FRM對你職業(yè)生涯的作用。

　　對風(fēng)控領(lǐng)域的commitment

　　我認(rèn)為寫作時應(yīng)結(jié)合考試內(nèi)容中GARP的行為準(zhǔn)則，比如：It's also worth mentioning that if I become an FRM, I will be expected to adhere to the GARP Code of Conduct, letting me devote myself to safeguarding the reputation of FRM and GARP.

　　為什么FRM有利于你的職業(yè)生涯

　　可以聊聊金融行業(yè)就業(yè)前景，以及FRM本身的優(yōu)勢，比如：The FRM Exam is also practitioner-driven,and earning the FRM designation will demonstrate to my future employer that I am able to master complex real-world challenges.

　　或者是Entering the financial industry for a graduate student requires at least one designations of FRM and CFA. As the world’s most widely accepted risk management designation, FRM is focused on risk and enhances knowledge and skills about risk, however, CFA never covers risk in the same depth as FRM.

　　注意點

　　GARP獎學(xué)金本質(zhì)上還是補助性質(zhì)的，因此在statement里還是要提及自己的經(jīng)濟困境，比如：

　　I’m a full-time graduate student without income, so the scholarship would reduce hours spent on part-time job and will give me financial help. The scholarship will be greatly appreciated and put to good use. I plan to buy the official FRM ExamPart I bookwhich might improve my understanding of FRM course.(雖然你大概率不會買原版書，畢竟金程的課就足夠)FRM課程在線咨詢

　　去年(2017年)的statement和recommendation一樣必須打印在學(xué)校官方信紙上，但2018年已經(jīng)不再作此要求，statement可以寫在普通紙上，目前網(wǎng)上不少獎學(xué)金申請?zhí)际轻槍εf規(guī)則的經(jīng)驗。

　　Recommendation推薦信

　　GARP的本意是讓你的老師證明你可以從這筆錢以及FRM考試中獲益，并且還要突出你在statement里所說的對風(fēng)控的commitment。這里就不再贅述，直接貼例句：

　　The reasons why I believe he would benefit from the scholarship are as flows.

　　Firstly, if he becomes an FRM, he’ll have a competitive advantage that can help him stand out to his future employers. A friend of mine who is a Certified FRM and working in ICBC told me that nowadays opportunities are waiting for aspiring young people who possess the knowledge and tools necessary to assess and manage the challenges associated with the dynamic financial services industry.

　　What’s more, he has a good sense and a great interest of financial risk. Recently, he exampled to me the advantages of the ERM which is also called Enterprise Risk Management, and what left me the most deep impression was his commitment to FRM. XXX hopes that what he would learn from the FRM examination could also helps his research in Public Finance such as hedging the risk of government bankruptcy.

　　Last but not least, it is the enrollment fee of 350 dollars that brings a huge financial burden to a full-time graduate student without a job. The FRM scholarship would help he achieve the goal of becoming a certificated FRM faster as he would otherwise spend a long period of time doing part-time job to save up for the enrollment fee.

　　注意點

　　1.要遵守英文商務(wù)信件的規(guī)范格式。

　　2.簽字人不是導(dǎo)師，是授課老師也行。認(rèn)識的大神是自己簽字，老師全程tan90。

　　3.推薦信必須打印在有學(xué)校抬頭的信紙上，校園超市應(yīng)該有。

　　郵寄

　　注意!Attention!這可能是最最最關(guān)鍵的地方了。

　　我用的快遞是EMS，也有同學(xué)在T寶上找代理使用UPS和DHL的。事實證明，可能是因為美國大雪與一月份的政府倒閉，我的快遞在customs待了整整3周，EMS賠了我一半的郵費，還好沒有影響GARP收到材料。我通過郵件詢問得知我的材料完整，運輸中無丟失，總之FRM報名備考考生有事情都可以發(fā)郵件騷擾memberservices@garp.com

　　要從我快遞延誤的事情吸取教訓(xùn)，大家要盡可能提前準(zhǔn)備獎學(xué)金申請材料，本來5天的路程很可能會變成25天，要知道GARP對遲到的材料是絕對不受理的，再次提醒8.31。另外，那邊收到材料以后會發(fā)郵件告訴你。

　　快遞的文件袋里只放紙，不需要裝訂，因為釘書針或者回形針會形成突起磨穿信封;為防止意外，信封外面加個泡沫套是必要的。
