A cryptocurrency wallet is a tool that allows users to store, send, and receive digital assets securely. It can be either custodial (where a third party holds the private keys) or non-custodial (where the user controls the private keys). Centralized exchanges, on the other hand, are platforms where users can buy, sell, and trade cryptocurrencies, and they often offer wallet services as part of their platform. While centralized exchanges are more prone to hacking because they store large amounts of assets in a centralized manner, making them a prime target, cryptocurrency wallets can also be vulnerable, especially if they are custodial wallets controlled by an exchange. Non-custodial wallets, however, offer a higher degree of security since the user retains control of their private keys.
